Conversations on soul: Creative fire and self expression
I recently had a beautiful chat with a friend and colleague Jonathan Ehrlich on creativity and soul expression.
We talked about where his creativity is sourced from, how the soul speaks through great art and beauty and how archetypal myths, themes and characters help us see ourselves more deeply.
We also talk about how much of the art that has fundamentally changed how we seen the world often articulates something the collective can feel but hasn't got words for yet.
Some of the books and art we mention include:
The Souls Code - James Hillman
Trickster makes the world - Lewis Hyde
Hamnet - Maggie O'Farrell
Tracy Emin - My Bed
His Dark Materials - Philip Pullman
Nick Cave's Red Hand Files ('How long will I be alone')
Fleabag - Phoebe Waller Bridge
Maya Luna - Lilith poem, Omega Secrets
-
I seek to articulate the unknown and unseen.
What soul means to me and what it means to be human in this world.
Check out my Youtube channel for more conversations on a range of topics around soul work and how this work ripples out into our lives - traversing the challenging, the beautiful - the deeply human.
My prayer is that these conversations find those who seek it and receive an injection of nourishment, depth and beauty in this world hungry for more love.
I would love to hear how these convos touch you.
